FAQs

The Bakery

We will initially be open for takeaway treats on Thursdays and Fridays. We hope to be able to expand our opening hours in the future.

We will open by prior arrangement for collection of cakes made to order.

Unfortunately, because of the layout of the bakery, we’re not able to open for sit-in customers. We will have a selection of tasty treats to take away on Thursdays and Fridays.

We don’t have a carpark but there is on-street parking nearby on London Road and Keynsham Street.

Not at the moment – we spend most of our weekends delivering wedding cakes or trading at markets in and around the county. We will occasionally hold open days on weekends when we can, where we’ll have a wider selection of our cakes and treats available to take away.

Cakes to order

To place an order, first complete our Enquiry Form on the Our Cakes page of our website. We will get in touch via email to confirm whether your preferred date is available, and to go over any details with you.

For Signature Cakes we will contact you via email to confirm the details of your order. We require payment in full at this point to confirm your order.

For Bespoke Cake orders, we will listen to your ideas and requirements, and design a cake to suit your occasion. Once we have settled on a design together, you will be required to pay a 50% deposit to secure your order date. The balance will be due two weeks before your scheduled collection/delivery date.

The further in advance you place your order, the better. We have a small kitchen, with limited oven space, so the number of orders we can schedule each week is limited. We recommend placing your order as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment.

For signature cakes, we require at least a week’s notice. For Bespoke cakes, we need at least two weeks. Please note, more complex cakes may require more notice to allow time for designing the cake and ordering any specialist equipment or ingredients.

Prices for Signature Cakes are fixed, while the price of Bespoke Cakes will vary depending on design and size. Pricing details, including starting prices for Bespoke Cakes, are available on the Our Cakes page of our website. For a bespoke quote, please complete our enquiry form.

We are happy to work with you to design a beautiful and unique cake. We have a house style, which you can see in our Gallery and on our Instagram and Facebook accounts. Our buttercream cakes are inspired by nature, with natural decorations such as fresh fruit, nuts, and edible flowers.

You are welcome to request a cake from our Gallery or social media, but we will not replicate cakes made by other bakers; you can send us pictures to give us an idea of what you’re after, but we will create a unique cake incorporating our style. We don’t make novelty cakes, and we don’t make fondant figures.

We’re a small team, and in order to deliver cakes we have to close our bakery. Because of this, orders are for collection by default with the exception of tiered cakes. If you would like to request delivery, please contact us. Please be aware, we cannot guarantee delivery and will only deliver within a 30-mile radius of our bakery at 88 London Road (GL52 6EH).

For Wedding Cakes we hand deliver within a 60 mile radius of our kitchen in Cheltenham (GL52 6EH). There will be an additional fee for delivery and set up, which we will outline when we give you your quote. In order to ensure your wedding cake reaches your venue safely, we do not allow customers to collect tiered wedding cakes.

With the exception of wedding cakes, you can request changes to your order up to two weeks before the delivery/collection date. For wedding cakes, a month’s notice is required. We may not be able to make changes requested after this point. Changes may affect the price of your cake; if this is the case we will make the charges clear before confirming the updated order.

If you cancel your order more than four weeks before your scheduled collection/delivery date we will offer you a full refund.

In the event of a cancellation less than four weeks before your scheduled collection/delivery date, we will retain 50% of the deposit paid at the time of booking.

For cancellations less than two weeks before the scheduled collection/delivery date, we will retain the whole deposit. In the event of very late cancellations we reserve the right to withhold up to 100% of all monies paid.

About the cakes

We recommend arranging collection/delivery of your cake on the day it will be eaten to ensure it is as fresh as possible. If the cake is not being served straight away then it is best stored refrigerated to keep the icing cool and the cake looking its best. The cake should not be kept in direct sunlight.

We recommend serving the cake at room temperature, so remove from the fridge two hours before serving. If it’s a hot day, the cake is best removed from the fridge closer to the time of eating.

Any leftovers should be eaten within five days. Confirmation of this will be given with your order.

We only make vegan cakes. We believe that living a more ethical, compassionate, and environmentally-friendly lifestyle shouldn’t mean compromising on flavour and texture. With this in mind, we have honed our recipes, which have been tested on, and approved by, both vegans and non-vegans alike!

We cannot cater for people with severe or life-threatening allergies, as our cakes are made in a kitchen which handles all allergens (excluding animal products).

Details on allergens contained in your cake will be given when you order, and again on collection/delivery. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
